Pharmaco-toxicological characterization of the drug based on bacteriophages «Endometrofag»
Abstract
The article presents data on pharmaco-toxicological characterization of a new drug based on bacteriophages «Endometrofag». The article describes the experience in determining the acute toxicity of the drug, the local irritant effect of the drug on the skin, the irritant effect of the drug on the mucous membranes, sensitizing (allergenic) ability, embryotoxic and teratogenic effects of the drug on laboratory animals. In the parameters of acute toxicity according to the classification GOST 12.1.007 the drug based on bacteriophages «Endometrofag» refers to the IV class of hazard (low hazard substances) with an LD50 of over 5000 mg/kg. It was found that the drug used in a rats in different periods of pregnancy does not cause pathological changes during pregnancy in rats, as well as deviations in the development of offspring, deformities, which indicates the absence of embryotoxic and teratogenic properties.
